- Lead complex freshwater and marine aquatic resource programs across Canada - Provide technical direction and mentorship to project teams conducting field investigations and environmental studies - Lead and oversee freshwater and/or marine field programs from planning through execution - Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance - Manage project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations - Compile, manage, review, and analyze water quality, sediment quality, and biological datasets - Interpret scientific findings and develop practical recommendations for clients and stakeholders - Prepare, review, and deliver technical reports, including environmental monitoring reports, environmental permitting documentation, and impact assessments - Support data management and quality assurance processes - Collaborate with toxicologists, geochemists, hydrologists, fisheries biologists, wildlife biologists, and other specialists to develop integrated environmental solutions - Maintain strict adherence to health and safety requirements and promote a culture of safety excellence, including participating in Occupational Health and Safety Committee - Build trusted relationships with clients and regulatory stakeholders - Support client relationships and contribute to business development activities through technical expertise and exceptional service - Support business growth through technical excellence, collaboration,
and client service - Travel to project sites and remote locations as required - Support multidisciplinary field teams deploying from Yellowknife to project sites - Support Area Manager in office management Requirements - Required BSc in Aquatic Biology, Marine Biology or similar discipline - 4+ years of experience organizing, managing, and executing field programs - Boating experience and experience working in remote locations - Strong data management, analysis, and presentation skills - Strong commitment to safety and adherence to Health & Safety protocols - Expertise with Federal, Provincial, and Territorial regulations and guidelines - Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills - Demonstrated ability to lead projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage competing priorities - Ability to work collaboratively and independently - Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced work environment - Ability to travel and work in remote locations in varied terrain and weather conditions - Valid driver's license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle - Not eligible for immigration sponsorship - Graduate degree in Aquatic Biology, Marine Biology or similar discipline preferred - Experience with aquatic studies involving water quality, sediment quality,
fish and biotic communities - Experience using R or similar - Marine experience - CABIN certification - Boat operating experience - Prior experience in environmental consulting, government, and/or mining, preferably in northern Canada - Experience leading environmental monitoring programs, permitting initiatives, and impact assessments - Experience mentoring junior scientists and field staff Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in leading freshwater and marine aquatic resource programs, with a strong focus on data management, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
