CertainTeed, a proud member of Saint-Gobain, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Ottawa manufacturing facility. This role offers an exciting prospect to lead capital and maintenance projects in a fast-paced industrial environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
As a Project Engineer, you will take ownership of assigned projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, technical requirements, and customer expectations are successfully met.
What You'll Do
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical expertise and implement upgrades to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee on-site project activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues while maintaining thorough project documentation.
- Lead project review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise contractors and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within scope.
- Support budget planning and provide recommendations for capital and maintenance expenditures.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and project leadership experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- AutoCAD experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of contractor management and capital project execution.

Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay for this position ranges from 80 500$ to 102 000$ per year. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to education, experience, skills and qualifications as they relate to the role. Fully qualified and experienced candidates will typically align near the midpoint. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
