This position supports the health of municipal trees and natural areas by conducting assessments and implementing strategic forestry policies. Work collaboratively to ensure the alignment of forestry initiatives with community goals, enhancing both community engagement and environmental benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the urban forestry program and tree management activities • Assess tree health and implement preservation strategies • Research and draft policies for urban forestry • Facilitate stakeholder consultations for local initiatives • Monitor urban forestry program effectiveness and recommend changes
Requirements: • Certified Arborist designation (ISA) • Background in Forestry, Arboriculture, or Environmental Management • Proven experience in tree inspection and policy development • Excellent cooperative and communication capabilities • Understanding of ecological restoration practices
