About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and creative broadcaster to join our team as a Network Midday Host / Programming Assistant.
Based in Guelph, this full-time role offers a unique combination of daily on-air hosting and hands-on contributions to programming,
content development, and station operations, making you an integral part of the team both on-air and behind the scenes.
You'll host middays across multiple Hot AC stations, connecting with listeners through engaging, relatable content while helping execute the programming strategy behind the scenes.
We're looking for someone who is organized, adaptable, digitally savvy, and enthusiastic about creating excellent radio.
You'll work closely with programming leadership to support music scheduling, content planning, promotions, social media, and day-to-day programming needs.
You will contribute by:
- Hosting a compelling and engaging weekday midday show.
- Creating relatable, topical,
and entertaining content that connects with Hot AC listeners.
- Assisting with programming execution, music scheduling, and daily log management.
- Preparing and organizing show content, contests, promotions, and station features.
- Supporting station websites, social channels, and digital content initiatives.
- Collaborating with programming and on-air teams to execute station strategies and promotions.
- Recording commercial, promotional, and imaging content as required.
- Voice tracking additional stations and supporting network programming initiatives.
- Assisting with promotional appearances, station events, and community activations.
- Helping identify and execute revenue-friendly programming and promotional opportunities.
- Providing vacation and short-notice coverage for other dayparts when required.
Skills and experience you will bring:
- 2 to 5 years of radio broadcasting experience preferred.
- Previous on-air hosting experience with a strong understanding of audience engagement.
- Excellent content creation skills across on-air, social, digital, and video platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with music scheduling and programming systems is considered an asset.
- A solid understanding of the Hot AC format and current music trends.
- Strong social media instincts with a proven ability to create engaging content.
- Experience recording and editing audio and video content.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to collaborate.
- Comfortable using industry technology and broadcast tools to execute a professional, polished show.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to participate in station events and promotions.
