About North Pole Hoops

North Pole Hoops (NPH) is a Canadian basketball scouting, media, and events organization dedicated to growing the game and developing basketball talent. Through leagues, tournaments, showcases, and live events, NPH provides opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials, and event staff to be part of the Canadian basketball community.

Position Overview

NPH is hiring Game Day Staff to support our basketball leagues, tournaments, and events across Ontario.

We are currently seeking individuals for a variety of game-day positions, including:

- Scorekeeper (GameLead / StatsLead)
- Site Manager
- Front Desk Ambassador
- Social Media / Photographer / Videographer

Depending on the position, staff will support game operations, event logistics, customer service, media coverage, and overall event execution.

Available Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Scorekeeper – GameLead / StatsLead

Scorekeepers manage the score clock, shot clock, and/or game statistics while communicating with referees, coaches, and event staff to help ensure games run smoothly and accurately.

Responsibilities

- Operate the score clock and shot clock or track game scores and statistics using NPH's designated scorekeeping application
- Communicate with scorekeepers, referees, coaches, and other game-day staff
- Support Player of the Game recognition and team/player photography
- Assist with court turnover and preparation between games
- Clean spills or liquids from the court when necessary
- Notify the Site Manager when additional court maintenance or ice is required
- Report directly to the Site Manager

2. Site Manager

Site Managers oversee the day-to-day execution of NPH events and serve as the primary point of contact for staff, coaches, and event-related issues.

Responsibilities:

- Review game, referee, and staff schedules before each event
- Ensure staff are present, prepared, and assigned to their designated positions




- Set up and tear down event areas, including banners and front desk materials
- Ensure tablets and game equipment are charged and ready for use
- Prepare score tables with required equipment, including tablets, scoreboards, shot clocks, possession arrows, towels, mops, and other supplies
- Ensure games and event activities start on time
- Communicate with coaches, staff, referees, and other event personnel
- Address and resolve game-day operational issues
- Make timely decisions regarding teams, players, referees, and event operations
- De-escalate concerns from parents, spectators, or other attendees when required
- Communicate staff or operational issues to the League Manager
- Gather feedback from game-day staff and identify opportunities to improve future events
- Participate in operational meetings and event debriefs as required

3. Front Desk Ambassador

Front Desk Ambassadors help create a welcoming and organized experience for players, families, coaches, and spectators.

Responsibilities:

- Act as a representative of the NPH brand: Be a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact for players, coaches, families, and spectators while promoting NPH’s values and maintaining a qualified image throughout the event
- Process payments through cash, e-transfer, and Clover POS
- Verify payments and provide spectator access/stamps as required
- Manage and track weekend passes
- Maintain accurate records of game-day cash and transactions
- Direct coaches, players, and spectators to the appropriate courts and facility areas
- Assist families and participants with NPH applications, platforms, and event information
- Assist with waiver collection and player eligibility verification when required
- Sell merchandise, food, and beverages and accurately track sales
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area




- Set up and tear down the front desk/work area
- Communicate with the Site Manager regarding questions or issues that arise

4. Social Media / Photographer / Videographer

Media staff help capture and promote the energy of NPH events through photography, videography, social media, and digital content.

Responsibilities:

- Capture high-quality game action, player, team, and behind-the-scenes content
- Photograph player highlights, interviews, and event moments
- Record short-form video content for social media
- Assist with editing photo and video content
- Create graphics and promotional content for social media and in-game use
- Support live event coverage and broadcasting when required
- Assist with social media content planning and posting
- Capture content for NPH platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X
- Monitor and report on social media engagement and performance
- Assist with podcast or other digital content production when applicable

- Interest or experience in basketball, sports, events, media, or customer service is an asset
- Must be available for scheduled game days, which may include evenings and weekends
