Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a project involving the review and tracking of secured collateral filings across Canada and the United States.
The successful candidate will independently review loan and deal documentation, identify relevant collateral filings, extract key information, and maintain accurate tracking records.
Key Responsibilities
- Review legal, loan, financing and deal documentation
- Identify and analyze secured collateral filings, including PPSA (Canada) and UCC (US) filings
- Research and validate filing information
- Extract and organize information using Microsoft Excel
- Maintain tracking logs and reporting records
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation and data
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders as required
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of PPSA and/or UCC filings
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Previous experience in a law firm, legal department, or similar legal environment
- Experience reviewing legal, loan, or financing documentation
- Robust attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal diploma/certification or related legal education
- Experience supporting secured lending, commercial lending, or collateral documentation
- Exposure to both Canadian and US collateral filing requirements

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working independently in a deadline-driven environment
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have a Paralegal or Legal Assistant background with secured lending, commercial lending, or financing documentation experience, along with hands-on exposure to PPSA and/or UCC filings and strong Excel skills. Candidates must be comfortable independently reviewing large volumes of documentation and accurately extracting and tracking filing information.
