Role Description This is a remote, contract role based in Canada for a Parallels RAS Administrator / Virtualization Engineer. The role involves administering, configuring, and supporting Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) environments, including deployment, upgrades, and performance tuning. The administrator will manage virtualization platforms, maintain virtual desktops and applications, and ensure secure, reliable access for end users.

Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system health, troubleshooting connectivity and application delivery issues, implementing best practices for high availability, and collaborating with security and infrastructure teams.



The role also includes documenting configurations and procedures, contributing to automation and optimization initiatives, and providing technical guidance to stakeholders on RAS and virtualization solutions.

Qualifications

- Strong experience with Parallels RAS administration, including configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of remote application and desktop environments.
- Hands-on skills with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or similar), including managing virtual servers, desktops, and resource allocation.
- Proficiency with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN).
- Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to application delivery, session performance, user access, and system stability.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline administration, deployment, and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of security best practices for remote access environments, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team and support non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Parallels RAS, VMware, Microsoft) and prior consulting or client-facing experience are considered assets.
- Eligibility to work remotely in Canada and willingness to support projects across multiple time zones as needed.
