What if your decades of clinical trial expertise could directly influence how AI reasons about medical evidence, regulatory data, and patient outcomes? We're looking for a Principal Clinical Scientist to bring senior-level rigor to the frontier of AI development — ensuring the clinical knowledge embedded in next-generation AI systems meets the highest standards of scientific and regulatory integrity.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for experienced clinical scientists who want to do meaningful work on their own schedule. No AI background required — your deep domain expertise is what matters.
- Design and critically review clinical trial protocols used to generate high-quality, regulator-ready AI training datasets
- Interpret and audit clinical trial results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory relevance
- Evaluate AI-generated clinical analyses for scientific soundness and alignment with FDA, EMA, or equivalent regulatory expectations
- Provide expert feedback that directly shapes how AI models reason about clinical trial data, endpoints, and outcomes
- Help establish quality standards for clinical evidence used in cutting-edge AI research workflows
Who You Are
- Senior-level clinical scientist with hands-on experience designing trial protocols for regulatory submission
- Deep expertise interpreting clinical data for major regulatory agencies (FDA, EMA, or equivalent)
- Strong grounding in clinical research methodology, biostatistics, or translational science
- Naturally rigorous and detail-oriented — you hold clinical evidence to the highest standards
- Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a remote environment
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or evaluation frameworks
- Background in clinical pharmacology, oncology, rare disease, or other specialized therapeutic areas
- Familiarity with AI tools or emerging applications of machine learning in clinical research
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems shaping the future of clinical and biomedical research
- Influence how AI understands, evaluates, and communicates real-world clinical evidence
- Fully remote and versatile — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level work
- Collaborate with world-leading AI research teams and labs
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
