This is an opportunity for an experienced project manager to support to both our new and long term clients.
This position is not to support a term project, rather ongoing for the foreseeable future.

This position is based in Fort St. John, British Columbia. The successful applicant must reside in Fort St. John or be willing to relocate to the community.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of assigned projects. The primary focus is on planning, executing, monitoring, and handing off completion of maintenance and construction projects. The Project Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, contractors and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Planning:
- Conduct thorough analysis and assessment of project requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Responsible for developing project planning documents for assigned projects, including but not limited to the; communications management plan, resource management plan, overall project schedule, overall project budget, change management plan, risk register,
procurement management plan.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, issues, and unnecessary dependencies associated with the project.
- Establish project milestones (major or minor) and ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Define and communicate project roles, responsibilities, and reporting structure to all team members.
Project Execution:
- Coordinate and facilitate project activities, ensuring adherence to the defined project plan.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members to facilitate project success.
- Regularly review project performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as required.
- Implement and utilize project management methodologies and tools to monitor and control project activities
- Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates to management and address any concerns.
- Conduct audits to ensure that daily and weekly activities set by the Site Supervisors are in alignment with the project schedule and are within the project scope.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, compliance requirements, and technical specifications.
- Monitor project expenditures, track costs, update forecast models and ensure effective utilization of allocated resources.
- Proactively identify project risks, analyze their potential impact, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Stay updated with industry trends and project management methodologies, applying relevant knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
- Work in close alignment with the HSE Manager to ensure that safety is a priority on all assigned projects.
Project Close-out:
- Ensure successful project completion, meeting all defined objectives and deliverables.
- Conduct thorough project reviews and evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present project close-out reports, including final budgets, schedules, key project outcomes to Project Leader and senior management.
- Coordinate project handovers, transfer of responsibilities, and knowledge sharing with Project Leader and senior management.
- Collaborate with the finance team to finalize project financials and resolve any outstanding financial matters.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Provide clear direction and guidance to project team members, fostering a team-oriented and high-performing work environment.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring workload balance and leveraging individual strengths.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and address any performance issues or conflicts that arise.
- On a consistent basis, go out to site and develop rapport with employees, and contractors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably with a focus on maintenance and construction
- Experience in working with or for BC Hydro an asset.
- Experience working on large scale projects, such as John Horgan Dam and Generating Station an asset.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, permits, and compliance standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $70.00-$85.00 per hour
