At Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, the Respiratory Therapist I is an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing comprehensive respiratory care services across a variety of acute care settings including neonatal, pediatric and adult populations. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, you will assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary conditions in critical care, emergency, inpatient medicine, surgery, and other specialty areas.

Responsibilities include airway management, mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, patient assessment, and participation in emergency response activities.

Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes.

You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments. Classification:

Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA). Additional Required Qualifications:

Current BLS-HCP certification. Recent acute care and/ or critical care experience (in past 5 years). Preferred Qualifications:

Competency in performing adult Intubation & Arterial Line Insertion. PVAD insertion and management certification. Current ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification. Please note:
