About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean for the Faculty of Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development and academic leadership of the Faculty, with a focus on scholarship, interdisciplinarity, and programming that addresses the pressing issues of the region and beyond. This leadership role requires a visionary academic administrator with a strong background in one or more of the relevant disciplines, a commitment to Indigenization, and a proven track record in fundraising, strategic planning, and fostering a culture of academic and administrative excellence. The Dean will be expected to lead the Faculty in its mission to provide high-quality, relevant education,



and to ensure that the needs of students and the community are at the forefront of all activities.

Candidates for the Dean position should have a doctorate and a scholarly record suitable for a Full Professor appointment, experience in academic program development, and a deep understanding of the post-secondary educational landscape. The role demands a leader with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, and a solid commitment to the values of the institution. Key responsibilities include overseeing program design, curriculum development, and learning pathways, as well as supporting faculty and staff in their professional growth. The Dean will also be tasked with strengthening external partnerships, promoting interdisciplinary research, and ensuring the Faculty's alignment with the institution's strategic goals.
