Job Summary The Sales Operations Manager (SOM) is the internal business partner to the Regional Sales Team responsible for leading the monthly and annual S&OP; (Sales and Operations Planning) process generating an accurate volume demand signal based on a number of key drivers. This role will collaborate with other internal stakeholders including, but not limited to, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance as well as external customers. The SOM will also be accountable for leading initiatives with customers to resolve and improve supply-related opportunities and ensure product deployment/inventory levels to support account activities.

This role reports to the National Manager, Sales Operations and will directly support the Prairies (Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) business unit at Arterra Wines Canada. Outside of daily and overnight travel, this is a remote work prospect and the successful applicant can be based out of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta or British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Prairies Sales Director and the Strategic Account Managers by leading key sales volume planning processes (S&OP;, LE1/LE2, AOP), customer interactions and annual account planning as required

Influence promotional inventory levels to ensure appropriate supply available within the network to meet sales forecasts and activity plans

Partner with customers to assess promotional activity inventory and base distribution opportunities and support the implementation of action plans to improve out-of-stock (OOS) performance

Establish regular business review meetings with key customer contacts to review and action on opportunities to improve effectiveness as well as monitor supply challenges at warehouse and store level

Optimizing direct from source customer orders.



This would include but is not limited to consolidation of and coordinating optimal shipment and receiving timings for promotional programming and new products

Ensuring optimal quantities and timely distribution of inventory from customer DCs to store level to support key high-impact programming

Implement collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) with customers and internal Agency partners as well as Supply Chain team to improve forecast accuracy

Lead and own the LE (forecast) building process for the Prairies business

Own the S&OP; (Sales & Operations) monetization process by channel by ensuring weekly/ monthly accuracy of forecasts before the close of a period

Participate on supplier committees for Supply Chain processes to influence decisions that are advantageous to Arterra sales volume, cost, and revenue

Own the Provincial, customer, and channel forecast plan by aligning with stakeholders

Deliver on KPI related to forecast accuracy (FA), Bias, customer inventory, sales volume and EBIT

Job Requirements A University Degree or Comparable (primary focus on Business, Sales and/or Marketing)

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Sales with a minimum of 3 years in Key Account/Customer Management within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).

Beverage

Alcohol industry experience is considered an asset

Experience within a warehouse delivered Go-to-Market system is preferred

Demonstrated strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office





Demonstrated customer collaboration and development experience within a matrix organizational work structure

Strong problem solving and decision‑making skills with main focus on timely resolution of issues and driving improvement efforts with the customer

Proven leadership and negotiation skills

Demonstrates strong initiative to drive improvement efforts

Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Must be willing to travel – daily travel and overnight travel is required to meet with the customer

Proven experience and success in business forecasting

Demonstrated influence leadership within complex matrix environments/stakeholders

Strong negotiations abilities with senior external stakeholders

Strong presentation skills with senior audiences

Proficient supply chain acumen is an asset

Demonstrated financial and business acumen

Compensation

Budgeted Range – $$85,467 - $117,517. The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
