Join Vancouver Aboriginal Child & Family Services Society as a Life Long Connections Coordinator. Focus on building relationships for Indigenous children in care and their communities.
In this regular full-time role, you will facilitate cultural and community connections for children while supporting their safety and well-being. Engage directly with First Nations, conducting reunifications and cultural plans with families. The position demands a robust understanding of restorative practices in Indigenous welfare along with effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support children in reconnecting with their heritage
• Organize cultural ceremonies like Touching the Land
• Collaborate with VACFSS staff on child planning
• Maintain knowledge of Indigenous community resources
• Oversee cultural plans per relevant legislation
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field
• At least one year of job-specific experience
• Familiarity with cultural protocols and agency functions
• Capacity for emotional and relational engagement
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
