Join the Community Safety Division in Richmond as a Youth Outreach Advocate, dedicated to mentoring at-risk youth aged 12 to 17 involved with the criminal justice system. This position focuses on fostering trust and guiding youth towards positive life choices.
The Youth Outreach Advocate works closely with families, community partners, and law enforcement to provide case support and resources. Key tasks include assessing individual needs, developing tailored service plans, and offering continuous mentorship. You'll navigate services that enhance protective factors and encourage participation in prosocial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build qualified relationships with youth facing challenges
• Coordinate referrals from local agencies and law enforcement
• Conduct assessments to identify individual strengths and barriers
• Advocate for youth needs and provide case support
• Implement youth-focused programs and engagement workshops
Requirements:
• Diploma in relevant social sciences or youth work
• 2-5 years of related community experience
• Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence required
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• Demonstrated skill in crisis intervention
