Finance Analyst – Operations- Full-Time Hamilton, Ontario Salary:$65,000-$80,000 Closing Date for Applications: September 28, 2026 Position Description: As the Finance Analyst – Operations, you will be responsible for preparing, managing, and delivering accurate and timely financial reports across multiple government and institutional stakeholders. You will report to the Finance Manager and collaborate across internal teams to support operational effectiveness, ensure funding compliance, interpret financial information, and uphold the highest standards of financial integrity. Your attention to detail and analytical skills, along with an ability to translate reporting into valuable insights and decision support for program management, will play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of Hope and Homes for All.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid, minimum 3 days per week in the office, primarily based out of the Hamilton main office at 1430 Main St. E.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Internal Financial Reporting (40%) Provide monthly reports to various departments, and support with interpretation and discussion of financial information
IT, Facilities, Programs, HR
Develop and maintain strong relationships with users of financial information, helping them understand the data and integrate it into their decision making and management approach




Maintain payroll database to support both internal and external reporting requirements
With support from the Finance Manager, develop a process to provide financial reports, including detailed analytical work and forecasts, to Regional Managers on a quarterly basis
Assist in preparing quarterly reports for the Finance and Audit Committee
Set up and report on program launch budgets
External Financial Reporting (40%) Ministry of Health Rent Supplements
Annual budget
Annual report
Operating Funding Agreements
Ministry of Health, various municipalities
Quarterly financial reports
Prepare budgets and projections as required
Support in the development of new agreements and reporting requirements
Engage with auditors where required
Operating Grants
Create job codes and circulate to stakeholders
Assist program managers in tracking and reporting on the use of funds
Maintain database of active grants
Operating Budget Development (10%) Support the Controller by working with various operating departments during the budget preparation season to ensure quality of data inputs and access to necessary information
Analyze operating budgets to ensure financial sustainability and compliance with Operating Agreements
Miscellaneous (10%) Support department managers in extracting and interpreting financial information as required
Assist the Finance Manager in identifying and implementing process improvements
Assist with year-end close and audit procedures
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Professional certification such as CPA is highly desirable
Proven experience in financial budgeting and reporting, preferably in a nonprofit or social services organization
Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present financial information in a way that is understandable to users without the same familiarity or experience
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail




High degree of proficiency in Excel. Candidates ought to be familiar with functions such as Power Query, index-matching, xlookup, and pivot tables.
