Join TRIUMF as a Student Research Assistant and work on pioneering projects involving Low-Gain Avalanche Detectors and Two-Photon Absorption techniques. This role offers hands-on lab work and programming experience.
In this position, you will engage in the characterization of LGAD sensors, executing measurements and analyzing data. Your contributions will directly enhance experimental measurements supporting the PIONEER experiment at TRIUMF, the national laboratory for particle physics in Vancouver. Candidates should have a solid foundation in C++ or Python and an interest in cutting-edge detector technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform measurements on LGAD sensors using TPA setup
• Analyze and interpret results alongside simulations
• Present findings to the team
• Work with previously collected LGAD data from TRIUMF
• Test a liquid-xenon purity monitor in a cryostat
Requirements:
• Enjoy hands-on laboratory work
• Knowledge of C++ or Python required
• Strong interest in particle physics
• Open to working in cooperative environments
• Available for possible 4-months extension
