Play an essential role in the Senate of Canada's Property and Services Directorate as a Maintenance Person focused on janitorial services. This position involves light duty cleaning within Ottawa's historic Parliamentary buildings.
In this six-month term position, you will ensure that the Senate buildings are kept clean and welcoming. Your responsibilities will include waste management, vacuuming, and dusting, as well as caring for heritage furniture around the offices. This role operates Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness in Senate building areas
• Handle waste and recycling management duties
• Dust and vacuum offices and meeting rooms
• Protect and maintain heritage items in the buildings
• Work alongside the operations team for effective cleaning
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Experience in commercial or public building cleaning
• Knowledge of various cleaning products
• Skillful in using cleaning tools like industrial vacuums
• Preferred: Training related to building cleaning or maintenance
