Make a meaningful impact as an Indigenous Advocate with Encompass Support Services Society, focusing on supporting Indigenous families in crisis. This role is permanent, full-time, with a flexible schedule in Langley, BC.
In this position, you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support for Indigenous individuals and families facing the challenges of crime. Your expertise in Indigenous cultural knowledge and practices will guide you as you collaborate with service partners and advocate for the needs of your community. With a solid commitment to reconciliation, your work will foster healing and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for victims of crime and their families
• Coordinate care with trauma support services team
• Assist with community resource access
• Empower participants through informed choices
• Provide support with relevant documentation
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
• Three years in social services experience
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
• Current Emergency First Aid certification
Lead initiatives that promote Indigenous well-being and cultural understanding in your community.
