Serving as a volunteer firefighter is one of the most dynamic and rewarding ways to make a lasting, positive impact in your community.

Starting Compensation

$23.00/hour

Minimum Qualifications

At least 18 years of age

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) / Grade 12 minimum or equivalent

Valid Class G driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record

Medical clearance note from a qualified health care provider confirming physical fitness for firefighter duties

Training certifications:

Upon hire, firefighters will participate in the department’s Training Program and must achieve the following certifications and licenses:

Valid Class DZ Driver’s License

NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Responder – Awareness Level





Red Cross Certification (First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Therapy, Airway Management, and Basic Life Support / BLS)

NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Operations Level
