Responsibilities

- Review and analyze applicable information management, records management, recordkeeping, retention, disposition, classification, and information lifecycle policies, standards, directives, frameworks, and guidance.
- Conduct research and analysis of current information lifecycle management practices, including records retention and disposition, classification, metadata, systems of record, repositories, and SharePoint Online information structures, to identify gaps, dependencies, and areas for improvement.
- Assess the alignment of information holdings and information architectures, including master file plans, enterprise information architecture, legacy repositories, and Microsoft 365 information structures, and identify associated governance issues.
- Assess operational challenges and user burden associated with creating, managing, storing, classifying, retaining, disposing of, protecting, and retrieving information.
- Define and document business requirements related to records retention, disposition, information governance, metadata, classification, systems of record, auditability, reporting, search, legal hold, eDiscovery, and information lifecycle management.
- Engage and consult with stakeholders to validate findings, identify constraints and dependencies, clarify requirements, and support the development of problem statements and proposed solutions.
- Develop and assess courses of action to address identified gaps and requirements, spanning policy, process, governance, information architecture, metadata, reporting, and user experience.
- Assess enterprise-enabled information governance capabilities, including Microsoft 365 compliance and information governance solutions.




- Conduct current-state assessments and gap analyses of information lifecycle management practices, repositories, and systems of record.
- Prepare analyses, recommendations, briefing materials, decision-support products, reports, and supporting documentation for technical review.
- Apply appropriate document management and version control practices, and maintain an electronic repository of work in progress, completed deliverables, and review comments.
- Prepare monthly status reports identifying activities completed, work in progress, issues, risks, recommendations, and level of effort utilized.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience performing substantive information management, records management, recordkeeping, records retention, records disposition, or information lifecycle management responsibilities.
- 3+ years of experience interpreting, applying, implementing, assessing compliance with, or advising on information management, records management, recordkeeping, retention, disposition, classification, metadata, or information lifecycle policies, standards, frameworks, and guidance.
- 2+ years of experience conducting current-state assessments, gap analyses, requirements analysis, options analysis, or recommendations related to information management, records management, recordkeeping, or information lifecycle management.




- 2+ years of experience engaging two or more stakeholder groups within the same initiative, project, or program to gather requirements, validate findings, analyze operational needs, and support decision-making.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 compliance and information governance capabilities, such as Microsoft Purview Records Management, Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management, retention labels and policies, event-based retention, disposition review, eDiscovery, and Content Search.
- Experience assessing information holdings and information architectures, including master file plans, enterprise information architecture, legacy repositories, and Microsoft 365 information structures.
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
