The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council seeks a dedicated full-time Community Health Nurse to serve Indigenous families. This dual-role focuses on home care and health services across diverse community settings.

Based in Port Alberni, this position fosters community health through comprehensive nursing services. Responsibilities include conducting immunization clinics, providing chronic disease management, and promoting health education. Your expertise will follow the Nuu-chah-nulth Nursing framework ensuring relational and culturally protected practices. Expect to engage in preventative health measures while traveling to remote communities within the NTC regions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement health promotion and disease prevention initiatives




• Provide home care and chronic disease management interventions
• Conduct community education and immunization clinics
• Establish partnerships to address local health issues
• Offer support for prenatal and newborn health initiatives

Requirements:
• Active RN license with BCCNM
• Experience with Indigenous communities is an asset
• Knowledge of electronic medical record systems
• Valid BC Driver’s license and transportation
• Completion of specialized immunization training
