Title of Position: Construction helper – Elliott Mumford Contracting

Terms of Employment: Full Time Year Round

Wage: $28.00 – $30.00 Hourly

Benefits Package (If Applicable): Extended medical and dental after 3 months. RRSP matching 2000 per year after 6 months.

Hours (each week): 32 hours per Week

Location of Work: 1403 Roper Place Kamloops BC V1S 1W5

Education: Education is not required

Work Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Job duties

Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas

Measure, cut and install siding

Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites

Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt

Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, and cement finishers, in construction activities

Measure cut and prepare wood framing for installation

Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities

Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel

Assist in demolishing buildings and floors using prying bars and other tools, and sort,



clean and pile salvaged materials

Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment to keep site clean

Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed

Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors and pumps

Clean up mold as well as remove asbestos and other hazardous materials as required

Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

Job Requirements

Punctual

Drug and Alcohol testing is required

Attention to detail

Can work independent and part of a team

Robust math skills

Drivers licence is an asset

Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.

Ability to work safely and always wear PPE and follow safety regulations

Can operate power tools and hand tools safely

Clean and organized
