This impactful position in NRC's Quantum and Nanotechnologies sector calls for a Ph.D. holder within five years in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields. The role involves substantial hands-on experience with photonic integrated circuit design, simulation, and optical characterization to support groundbreaking space telescope technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead PIC design and simulation efforts using FDTD tools
• Create architectures for low-loss silicon nitride devices
• Support optical characterization and assembly processes
• Publish and present research results collaboratively
• Manage packaging and evaluation of photonic devices
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in relevant scientific disciplines received in last five years
• Extensive experience in photonics design and simulation tools
• Demonstrated ability in device layout design and optical testing
• Strong independent research capabilities
• Willingness to represent NRC across Canada and internationally
