Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of goods. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth warehouse operations, timely order fulfillment, and seamless distribution processes. Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments by unloading trucks using equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols.
- Verify shipment accuracy by inspecting packages against packing lists and purchase orders, maintaining high standards of quality control.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products accurately for delivery or transfer.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software like AS400 to track inventory levels, update records, and manage order processing efficiently.
- Load and unload freight with precision, ensuring proper placement within the warehouse for easy access and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate stock levels in warehouse distribution systems.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks safely while adhering to all safety guidelines and certifications.
- Assist with order picking using order pickers or other equipment to fulfill customer orders promptly, especially in e-commerce settings.
- Support packaging activities to prepare products for shipment, ensuring they are secure and meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency throughout daily operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or related roles preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or other warehouse equipment is highly desirable; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, or MRP software such as SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including order fulfillment, inventory management, and load & unload procedures.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately.
- Experience working in e-commerce environments or high-volume distribution centers is beneficial.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
