Summary

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Site Supervisor to help oversee daily construction activities and keep projects running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

The Site Supervisor will coordinate site employees, trades, subcontractors, materials, and equipment while ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards. This position works closely with the Project Manager and serves as a key point of contact for day-to-day site activities.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable leading a team, and able to identify and address issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision

- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities.
- Assign daily tasks and provide direction to site employees and labourers.
- Coordinate trades and subcontractors working on site.
- Monitor progress, productivity, and quality of work.
- Keep the job site organized, clean, and productive.
- Communicate daily site updates and concerns to the Project Manager.
- Help resolve day-to-day issues and keep work moving forward.

Health & Safety

- Promote a safe work environment and lead by example.
- Follow and enforce company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees and subcontractors follow applicable Alberta Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety checks.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Ensure required PPE is being used.
- Identify and address hazards promptly.
- Report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to the appropriate person.

Construction & Quality

- Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Monitor workmanship and identify deficiencies.
- Coordinate corrections and follow up on outstanding items.
- Assist with inspections and testing as required.
- Ensure completed work is protected and the site remains organized.
- Identify potential issues that could affect quality, schedule, or productivity.

Materials & Equipment

- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when needed.
- Help track materials and site supplies.
- Coordinate equipment needs and report equipment issues.
- Help prevent unnecessary material waste and equipment downtime.
- Maintain a safe and organized site.

Scheduling & Coordination





- Assist with planning daily and upcoming site activities.
- Coordinate work between different trades and subcontractors.
- Monitor progress against the project schedule.
- Identify potential delays and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate site access, deliveries, and inspections as required.

Documentation

- Complete daily site reports and other required documentation.
- Track labour, equipment, deliveries, and site activities.
- Maintain deficiency and inspection lists.
- Document safety concerns and incidents as required.
- Provide timely updates and information to the Project Manager.

Communication

- Maintain professional relationships with employees, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other project contacts.
- Communicate clearly with the site team and Project Manager.
- Address day-to-day questions and concerns professionally.
- Help create a respectful and productive work workplace.

Qualifications & Experience

- 2–5 years of construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Lead Hand, Foreperson, or in a similar role is an asset.
- Experience coordinating construction crews, trades, or subcontractors.
- Good understanding of construction processes and site operations.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing site conditions.
- Reliable, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
- Valid driver's licence.

Equivalent experience will be considered. Education & Certifications

Construction-related education or training is an asset.

Working Conditions

- Work is primarily outdoors on active construction sites.
- Exposure to changing weather conditions, dust, noise, and construction equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and moving around active work areas.
- PPE is required on active construction sites.
- Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work may be required depending on project needs.

- Be willing to address performance, safety, or behaviour issues directly and professionally when needed.
- Be willing to learn and take on new tasks, systems, and responsibilities.
- Be able to manage both hands-on site work and basic administrative responsibilities.
- Be physically capable of working on an active construction site throughout the day.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
- Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done.
- Have a practical, problem-solving approach and be willing to find solutions.
- Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend site needs when required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are an asset.

Success in This Role Success in this role means keeping the job site secure, organized, and productive. The Site Supervisor helps ensure the crew and subcontractors know what needs to be done, materials and equipment are available, work is completed properly, and any issues are communicated and addressed quickly.

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
