LN Land Development Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior CAD Drafter to join our Fort McMurray team .
We’re looking for someone with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and experience supporting legal survey, construction, oil & gas, industrial, and land development projects .
You’ll work closely with our surveyors, field crews, and project teams to turn field data and technical information into accurate, high-quality drawings and client-ready deliverables.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Prepare accurate, high-quality legal survey, construction, as-built, oil & gas, industrial, and land development drawings
Produce technical plans and deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Process and interpret survey field data, GPS data, field notes, point files, legal plans, and technical information
Prepare legal survey plans and associated drafting deliverables in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements
Prepare construction plans, layouts, profiles, cross-sections, as-builts, and other project deliverables
Draft and update plans related to pipelines, facilities, well sites, rights-of-way, industrial sites, and oil & gas infrastructure
Import, manage, and verify survey datasets, coordinate systems, and project information
Create and manage Civil 3D points, surfaces, alignments,
profiles, feature lines, labels, and drawing components
Interpret legal plans, survey plans, engineering drawings, construction drawings, field notes, and project specifications
Perform detailed QA/QC on drawings, coordinates, elevations, dimensions, labels, layers, scales, and title blocks
Identify discrepancies or missing information and work with field and project teams to resolve them
Maintain organized and accurate CAD files, templates, drawings, and project documentation
Ensure deliverables meet client specifications, applicable standards, and LN drafting requirements
Provide technical guidance and support to junior CAD staff
Help maintain and improve CAD standards, templates, workflows, and drafting efficiencies
Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum 3 years of CAD drafting experience within surveying, construction, oil & gas, civil engineering, land development, or a related industry
Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with legal survey drafting and construction survey drafting
Strong understanding of survey data, coordinate systems, elevations, surfaces, boundaries, and construction drawings
Experience preparing legal plans, survey plans, construction drawings, and as-built deliverables
Ability to confidently interpret field notes, GPS data, point files, legal survey plans,
engineering drawings, and project specifications
Strong understanding of CAD standards, layers, styles, templates, annotation, and drawing organization
Demonstrated experience performing QA/QC on technical drawings and deliverables
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team
Experience providing guidance or mentorship to junior drafting staff considered an asset
Dependable, skilled, and committed to producing high-quality work
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
ASSETS:
Oil & gas drafting experience
Experience drafting pipelines, facilities, well sites, rights-of-way, or related oil & gas infrastructure
Previous experience supporting oil sands or industrial projects
Experience with heavy civil, earthworks, and major construction projects
Experience working with data collected using Trimble GPS and Total Station equipment
Experience working within the Alberta surveying industry
WORK DETAILS
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
Schedule: 10 days on / 4 days off
Hours: Guaranteed 40 hours per week, overtime eligible
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Work Environment: Office-based with regular collaboration with field and project teams
This is a local Fort McMurray position . The successful candidate will be required to work from our Fort McMurray operations and collaborate closely with our survey, construction, and project teams.
