Our client is one of the leading boutique restructuring and turnaround firms in Canada. Looking to add to their growing team. They are looking to hire someone for their restructuring practice as an Associate, Corporate Restructuring.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone coming from a public accounting background looking for a new challenge but to remain in a professional services setting. In this role, you will be involved in a more hands and client facing role, closer to the operations side of the business and with fantastic career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:
Attending and handling Meetings of Creditors, liaising between creditors and debtors; preparing all the necessary documents in relation to the Meeting of Creditors; preparing Minutes of Meeting of Creditors.
Assistance with the preparation of reports to creditors, attendance at meetings of creditors and inspectors (as required), preparation of minutes and general file review to ensure all outstanding matters are dealt with prior to assigning to closeout.
Dealing with other reporting in accordance with the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Act,



as well as various other government reporting requirements such as the Wage Earner Protection Program Act.
Dealing with other professionals involved in the proceedings such as legal counsel, appraisal companies, interested parties, etc.
Preparing billings for professional services rendered and the taxation of accounts by the Court.
Large project organization and processing including liaising with onsite staff or outside professionals.
Managing and tracking section 246 reports required in Receiverships.
Job Requirements
Experience in a public accounting firm (non-restructuring service line) or restructuring firm.
CPA or close to completion.
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
