About Wren Labs

Wren Labs is a multidisciplinary technology company developing biotechnology instruments, laboratory automation, scientific software and advanced manufacturing systems.

We are looking for a physics or chemistry graduate who loves science but wants to build a career in technical writing, content creation, marketing and science communication.

This is an ideal prospect for someone who can understand complex technical subjects and explain them through clear articles, compelling stories, interviews, videos, graphics and marketing materials.

You do not need a traditional marketing background. We are looking for scientific intelligence, strong communication skills, curiosity, creativity and the desire to become an exceptional technical storyteller.

About the Role

You will work with our CEO, scientists, engineers and commercial teams to turn technical work into content that customers, partners, government organizations, researchers and the general public can understand.

You will create content for several scientific and technology brands, including websites, LinkedIn, newsletters, product materials, customer stories and technical publications.

You will also help develop Founders Field Notes, our editorial platform and future magazine focused on deep technology, science, advanced manufacturing and the people building difficult things.

Initially, this will be a hands-on content-production role. As you demonstrate strong judgment and execution, you can grow into managing editorial strategy, marketing campaigns, contributors, publications and a broader content team.

ResponsibilitiesTechnical Writing

- Interview scientists and engineers to understand their projects
- Turn technical discussions into clear, engaging written content
- Write technical articles, application notes, case studies and white papers
- Create product descriptions, brochures, presentations and sales materials
- Develop website copy for scientific products and technology companies
- Write customer-facing explanations of complex instruments and workflows
- Edit technical documents for structure, clarity, grammar and consistency
- Verify scientific claims and ensure content remains technically accurate
- Adapt the same technical information for expert and non-expert audiences

Content Creation
- Develop LinkedIn posts, newsletters, articles and company updates
- Create stories about product development, testing, manufacturing and field deployments
- Photograph and film scientists, engineers, prototypes and laboratory work
- Produce short-form videos, interviews and behind-the-scenes content
- Work with designers or content tools to create diagrams, graphics and visual assets
- Maintain content calendars across multiple brands
- Repurpose technical work into articles, social posts, videos and sales collateral
- Organize content assets, photographs, technical information and brand materials

Magazine and Editorial Development
- Help build Founders Field Notes into a respected deep-technology publication
- Research important companies, founders,



technologies and scientific developments
- Identify potential interview subjects and article topics
- Prepare interview questions and conduct founder, scientist and engineer interviews
- Write and edit founder profiles, technology features and industry analysis
- Coordinate guest writers, technical reviewers and external contributors
- Maintain an editorial calendar and publication schedule
- Fact-check articles and confirm technical details
- Help develop the magazine’s voice, editorial standards and visual identity
- Support future podcasts, events, panels and conferences

Marketing
- Translate technical capabilities into clear customer value propositions
- Help develop marketing campaigns for scientific instruments and services
- Research customer segments, applications and industry trends
- Create content supporting product launches, demonstrations and conferences
- Maintain consistent messaging across websites, social media and sales materials
- Work with business-development staff to produce targeted customer content
- Review content performance and recommend improvements
- Support search-engine optimization and website growth
- Help strengthen the public profiles of our companies, products and leadership

Mandatory Education Requirement Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in physics or chemistry from a recognized university.

Applicants with a closely related degree in engineering physics, materials science, chemical physics or physical chemistry may also be considered.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous professional marketing experience is not required.

- Wants to transition from a laboratory or academic pathway into content and marketing
- Is comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research, drafting and content production while personally verifying technical accuracy





Helpful but Not Required
- Experience writing for a student newspaper, science publication, blog or academic journal
- Experience with photography, video editing, podcasting or graphic design
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, WordPress, Canva or Adobe tools
- Experience interviewing scientists, founders or technical experts
- Laboratory or research experience
- Experience presenting scientific work to non-technical audiences
- A personal science, technology or creative project
- An existing writing or content portfolio

We are more interested in intelligence, curiosity, communication ability and initiative than years of experience.

- Scientists and engineers can rely on you to accurately communicate their work
- Company websites and LinkedIn pages are regularly updated

- Founders Field Notes has a consistent editorial calendar and publishing rhythm
- You can independently research, interview, write and publish technical stories
- Leadership can trust you to manage increasingly important content initiatives

Career Path This position can develop along the following path:

Technical Content and Marketing Coordinator → Senior Technical Writer or Science Editor → Managing Editor/Content Marketing Lead → Director of Content and Communications The successful candidate could eventually manage Founders Field Notes, oversee content across our portfolio companies, lead major campaigns and help build conferences and other media properties.
