Job Title: Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) Department: Nursing Services Purpose: To provide resident-centered personal care and support that promotes residents'' dignity, safety, comfort, independence, and quality of life within a long-term care setting, in accordance with facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and assisting with meals.

Assist residents with walking, transfers, repositioning, and the protected use of lifts and mobility equipment.

Follow individualized care plans to support residents'' daily care needs.

Observe residents for changes in their condition and report concerns promptly to the nursing team.

Respond to resident call bells in a timely and compassionate manner.

Document resident care and observations accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.

Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and other members of the care team.

Support residents'' dignity, independence, and quality of life through compassionate, resident-centered care.

Participate in education sessions, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support resident care and facility operations.





Equipment Used Mechanical lifts and transfer equipment Wheelchairs Walkers Bathing equipment Medical monitoring devices Working Conditions Work is performed in a long-term care environment and requires frequent lifting, transferring, repositioning, pushing, pulling, bending, and prolonged standing and walking while providing resident care.

Successful candidates must be able to safely assist residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive ability.

Qualifications Valid Continuing Care Assistant Certificate.

Must be registered with the Nova Scotia Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) Registry.

Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Candidates are encouraged to provide their availability during the recruitment process.

Ability to work in Canada.

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.

Alzheimer''s and Dementia Care training is considered an asset.

Previous experience in long-term care is considered an asset.
