Your Opportunity
This is your opportunity to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at Alberta Children's Hospital. We are looking for a Temperature Control Technician who is a highly organized, self-motivated person to support the smooth, efficient delivery of FM&E; Temperature, HVAC services at Alberta Children's Hospital. Bringing your experience, you will be providing daily support for building HVAC equipment.
With your experience, you will be providing daily support to the FM&E; team who supports the pediatric population of Alberta.
Description
As a Temperature Control Mechanic/HVAC, you may perform maintenance, repair, alteration and installation of HVAC control devices, system configurations and air balancing.

Required Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary education in a related trade or technology program.
Additional Required Qualifications
Require having minimum Grade 12 High school, Alberta Red Seal Refrigeration or Instrumentation post-secondary education. Require min. 2-5 years of HVACR/BMS controls and building-maintenance experience in an institutional or hospital environment. Require strong knowledge and troubleshooting skills of HVAC/R, VAV's, High-low-pressure boiler operations.
Chillers, heat pumps. Required strong background and knowledge of Building Management Systems, VFD operations, Computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365. Must be able to be Read, Write and Understand the English language.
Understand maintenance instructions, manuals, drawings and blueprints, Must bring your solid safety procedures and practices. Be able to write maintenance notes, inspection reports, and work-order updates. Communicate effectively with supervisors, tradespeople, and hospital staff.
Be able to work outdoors in varying in-climate weather. Be physically fit able to work from heights, lift 25lbs floor to waist, walk great distances throughout the day. Push and Pull 50lbs (wheeled). Be able to work independently as well within a Team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred solid understanding Siemens Insight and DDC controls. ABB, Mitsubishi VFD experience. Knowledge CSA and ASHRAE 170 requirements for healthcare facilities. General knowledge of institutional H-vac hospital systems.
