For more than four decades, Radiance has been a steadfast partner on the journey towards healing for women and children affected by domestic violence. We are a multi-services organization, supporting community needs including a residential shelter, community counselling, and children’s programming.

THE POSITION:

The Thrive Partnership Lead & Community Connector provides partnership, project and systems leadership for Thrive's work with faith communities to prevent and respond to domestic violence. The role translates grant commitments, community engagement and emerging research into focused strategies, formal partnerships and coordinated action, while also carrying a direct portfolio of community connector work.

The Thrive Partnership Lead and Community Connector hold distinct but interdependent portfolios and both report to the Executive Director. The Lead coordinates the overall Thrive work plan and shared project deliverables but does not supervise the Community Connector.

The Community

Connector contributes specialized relational, cultural and community-engagement expertise; the Lead draws on that expertise to develop partnership pathways, agreements and sustainable structures. Both roles build relationships, engage faith communities and contribute to learning and delivery.

This role reports to the Executive Director and has no direct reports.

YOU WILL:

- Lead the annual Thrive work plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, Community Connector and project partners, translating grant activities into clear priorities, timelines, accountabilities and measurable deliverables.
- Coordinate shared project milestones and deliverables, convene planning and learning conversations, clarify hand-offs and elevate decisions or barriers to the Executive Director without assuming supervisory authority for the Community Connector.




- Develop and implement a faith-community engagement and partnership strategy, drawing on research, partner input and the Community Connector's relational and cultural insights, with an initial focus on Christian churches and application of learning within a multifaith context.
- Carry a direct portfolio of faith-community, network and provincial relationships; cast a compelling vision, assess readiness and identify early adopters and key influencers in coordination with the Community Connector.
- Lead partnership development from exploration through formalization, including shared objectives, roles, decision-making, deliverables and the drafting and maintenance of memoranda of understanding and related agreements for approval.
- Coordinate research activities focused on Christian churches and synthesize findings with the Community Connector and project partners to identify priorities and inform Thrive's engagement and social-change strategies.
- Coordinate consultations that inform the adaptation of The Signal System™ learning sessions and supporting materials, while respecting the university partner's leadership of the model and content.
- Recruit key influencers and participants within faith-based settings and coordinate customized learning sessions, drawing on the Community Connector's knowledge of relationships, readiness and cultural context.
- Support the identification and coaching of a facilitator-in-training to strengthen sustainable delivery of learning sessions within faith communities.
- Plan and co-facilitate capacity-building workshops and dialogues exploring barriers to help-seeking, including stigma, religious misinterpretations and fear of institutional systems; wherever possible, partner with a trusted leader or influencer from the participating faith community.
- Together with the Community Connector, consult faith-based stakeholders to assess the interest, readiness, cultural appropriateness and partnership conditions for a faith summit.
- Develop a practical provincial coordination and partnership framework for sustained collaboration with faith communities.
- Monitor progress, partnership health, risks and emerging learning; maintain appropriate documentation and contribute to grant, evaluation and leadership reporting.
- Represent Radiance and Thrive at relevant events and model the organization's values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

- Bachelor's degree in community development, social sciences, public relations, communications,



business, not-for-profit management or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Seven or more years of progressive experience in partnership development, community engagement, project leadership or a related field, preferably within a faith-based, community-development or social-change environment.
- Demonstrated experience moving complex partnerships from initial relationship-building to clearly defined commitments, governance arrangements, memoranda of understanding or similar agreements.
- Experience leading complex projects and coordinating shared work without relying on direct authority, with the ability to translate broad outcomes into priorities, work plans, decisions and sustained follow-through.
- Robust experience engaging senior leaders and diverse stakeholders, facilitating sensitive conversations, and planning workshops, learning sessions or engagement events.
- Demonstrated understanding of faith communities, Christian traditions and multifaith environments, with the cultural humility to work respectfully across theological, cultural and organizational differences.
- Knowledge of domestic and family violence, prevention, systems change or behaviour-change approaches is an asset.
- Experience working with research, evaluation, post-secondary or grant-funded partners is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

- Ability to travel within Calgary and across Alberta as required; a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet with faith communities and participate in events.
- This role is not eligible for Hybrid Remote work.
