Join our agile team as a Truck Driver - Class 1(G LICENSE) and take on an exciting role that drives operational excellence! In this position, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and compliance. This role offers a vibrant work environment where your skills in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will be valued and utilized daily. This is not a dock unloading position. There are clients you make reasonable requests that we can accommodate.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition for operation
- Load and unload freight MANUALLY WITH A DOLLY OR WITH PALLET JACKS when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and freight manifests
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to address minor mechanical issues during shifts
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company policies
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience( minimum 3 years full time) in commercial driving, preferably with freight transportation or related fields
- Skilled in PALLET JACK OR DOLLY handling for loading/unloading cargo
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics to perform minor maintenance tasks on trucks
- Ability to perform detailed pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate records of vehicle condition
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety and customer service
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, operate machinery, and work in various weather conditions
