Our client, a growing and well-established organization in the consumer products and distribution space, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA-designated professional who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment where they can make a meaningful impact on both the accounting function and broader business operations.
Reporting directly to the Divisional Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, inventory accounting, process improvement initiatives, and operational support across multiple entities.
The successful candidate will thrive in a rapid-paced environment, demonstrate strong business acumen, and possess the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and drive results independently.
Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities in accordance with ASPE standards.
Prepare journal entries related to fixed assets, inventory, accruals, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and review account reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Support inventory accounting, valuation, adjustments, cycle count analysis, and variance investigations.
Perform gross margin, sales, pricing, and cost analysis as required.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, transaction issues, and financial reporting variances.
Partner with Sales, Operations, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and IT teams to resolve financial and process-related issues.
Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Assist with customer deductions, rebates, chargebacks, broker commissions, and related reporting requirements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting initiatives.
Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation and operational improvements.
Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
Provide backup support for critical accounting functions during peak periods and team absences.
Participate in special projects and other ad hoc accounting duties as required.
