We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Software Developer to join a agile technical team delivering enterprise-grade software applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating technical system specifications into clean, functional, and fully tested code.
Working across the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), you will build data-driven programs, perform unit testing, troubleshoot software issues, and assist with application conversions, migrations, and post-implementation technical support.
Location: Toronto, ON (Fully Onsite 5 days/week required) Duration: 7-month contract.

Responsibilities Application Development & Coding: Translate technical specifications into working, tested applications by writing clean code, developing detailed programming specs, and compiling data-driven programs.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing, debug software components, perform code reviews, and execute test plans to ensure high code quality.
Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve, debug, and troubleshoot technical issues that arise during software operation, system implementation, conversions, and migrations.
System Maintenance & Migration: Modify product installation scripts, assist with system upgrades, support middleware/gateway integrations,
and manage database configurations.
Technical Documentation: Author user and system documentation, maintain code repositories, and prepare detailed specs for program walkthroughs. SDLC Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional IT professionals, architects, and business stakeholders throughout design, development, and deployment phases.
Qualifications Software Development Experience: Practical programming and analysis experience building, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications (Strictly Required).
Core Programming & DB Languages: Proficiency in modern object-oriented programming languages, SQL, data queries, and relational database technologies (Strictly Required). SDLC & Methodology Knowledge: Practical understanding of structured software development methodologies, design patterns, and testing practices (Strictly Required).
Troubleshooting & Support: Hands-on experience investigating software defects, resolving technical issues, and providing migration or conversion assistance (Strictly Required).
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a team environment (Strictly Required).
Nice-to-Have Assets: Hands-on experience with Oracle database technologies, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting, or Oracle E-Business Suite / ERP modules.
Familiarity with Java, Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), ETL tools,
or web development frameworks.
Knowledge of web accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG) and rapid application development (RAD) frameworks.
