Optimize Winnipeg's transit services as the Accessibility Coordinator with a focus on inclusivity. This temporary full time role requires compliance with accessibility standards and stakeholder collaboration.
In this pivotal position at City of Winnipeg, you’ll ensure compliance with the Accessibility for Manitobans Act across new transit projects. You will collaborate with various departments to develop training, analyze accessibility barriers, and enhance customer service for individuals with disabilities.
Your role will also involve working closely with advocacy groups and city stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate policies inhibiting accessibility to transit services
- Coordinate training initiatives in accessibility practices
- Serve as a liaison for accessibility project issues
- Participate in advisory committee meetings
Requirements:
- Relevant post-secondary education or experience
- Minimum four years in accessibility roles
- Familiarity with the Human Rights Code
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of WCAG and related accessibility guidelines
