Lennox Animal Hospital is looking for a friendly, dependable and motivated Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our team!
This is a combined front-desk and veterinary assistant position, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable working with both people and pets and enjoys a busy, hands-on environment.
The Role
Your day may include
- Greeting clients and checking patients in and out
- Answering phones, booking appointments and responding to client questions
- Assisting veterinarians and technicians during appointments
- Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
- Preparing exam rooms and keeping treatment areas clean and organized
- Filling prescriptions and assisting with medication requests as directed
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate patient records
- Helping with laboratory samples and basic in-clinic procedures
- Following up with clients after appointments
- Restocking supplies and helping keep the hospital running smoothly
- Jumping in wherever the team needs an extra set of hands
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Friendly, professional and confident speaking with clients
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments
- A strong team player who isn't afraid to take initiative
- Compassionate and able to remain professional during emotional situations
- Comfortable with computers, phones and learning veterinary software
Previous veterinary clinic experience is strongly preferred. Experience with AVImark is an asset but not required.
