At Victoria Road Animal Hospital, we’re looking for a compassionate, dependable, and adaptable Veterinary Assistant to join our supportive team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working directly with animals, supporting veterinarians and RVTs, and helping keep a busy clinic running smoothly. If you’re organized, proactive, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and genuinely passionate about animal care, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, treatments, and procedures
- Safely handle and restrain animals as required
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges
- Monitor patients and communicate observations to the veterinary team
- Prepare and organize supplies and equipment
- Maintain accurate patient information and complete required data entry
- Assist with laboratory samples and other clinical tasks within the scope of the role
- Help maintain appropriate inventory and restock clinical areas
- Support the veterinary team with day-to-day clinic operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
- Provide compassionate and professional care to every patient
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is a strong asset
- Comfortable handling cats and dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in a quick-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers and veterinary practice management systems
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a veterinary team
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
