**Job Title: Industrial Saw Operator and Material Handler**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on operating a large industrial band saw to tight tolerances, handling metal materials in a busy ISO-certified environment, and supporting shipping and receiving through safe material movement and general labor duties.
You will work with stainless steel and alloy metals, verify measurements, and contribute to a small, collaborative team in a heavy industrial setting.
**Responsibilities**
Operate a large Do-All band saw to exact, tight tolerances, including working to measurements as fine as 1/16 of an inch.
Use measuring tape and other basic measuring tools to verify product dimensions and tolerances before materials move to the next stage.
Handle heavy metals in an industrial environment, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility.
Support material flow by operating a side loader (combi lift forklift) to bring product to the saw and, once trained, use a forklift to move materials to shipping and receiving as needed.
Perform general labor duties as assigned, such as material staging, basic clean-up around workstations, and assisting team members with production tasks.
Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and organized correctly for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Learn and apply the differences between cutting stainless steel and alloy metals, adjusting cutting techniques and settings as required.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, teammates, and shipping/receiving staff to coordinate workflow and meet production targets.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced ISO environment, following established procedures and quality standards.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of machinery and forklifts.
Participate in in-house forklift training for the combi lift (side loader) and operate the forklift approximately 10% of the time once certified.
**Essential Skills**
Heavy industrial experience, preferably in environments involving metal handling or machining.
At least 1 year of machine operating experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Ability to operate a saw machine, including basic understanding of band saw operation and safety.
Experience working with tight tolerances, such as measuring and cutting to within 1/16 of an inch.
Ability to use a measuring tape accurately to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
Comfort working with heavy metals and handling materials in a busy industrial environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Forklift experience or a forklift license, with willingness to be trained in-house on a combi lift (side loader).
Experience in the steel industry or with metal processing operations.
Band saw operating experience, particularly with large industrial saws.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
High school diploma or equivalent education.
**Work Environment**
The work takes place in a very industrial, ISO-oriented facility where it can be loud around the machines and where safety is a top priority.
You will work with heavy metals and large equipment in a medium-paced environment that balances productivity with safety and quality.
Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, a hard hat, and gloves.
