**Job Title: Apprentice Electrician (2nd Year or Above) – Commercial Construction**
**Job Description**
This role offers the opportunity to grow your electrical career on a variety of commercial construction projects, including tenant refits and new office fit-outs.

You will perform a mix of conduit bending and installation, wire pulling, and mounting electrical devices while working both at ground level and at heights using lifts.

The position is ideal for a motivated apprentice electrician who enjoys working independently, taking initiative on site, and contributing to high-quality project delivery.
**Responsibilities**
Install and bend electrical conduit, including up to 1 inch, in commercial construction environments.

Pull wire, terminate circuits, and install and mount electrical devices according to project specifications and electrical codes.

Support tenant refit projects, including transitions of existing retail spaces and new office tenant fit-outs.

Operate lifts safely and perform electrical work from heights in accordance with fall protection requirements.

Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues on site and contribute to effective problem resolution.

Work on a range of commercial projects, including renovations, new builds, and lighting upgrades in office, retail, and warehouse settings.

Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working on active construction sites.

Maintain reliable attendance, arrive prepared to work at the scheduled start time, and remain engaged through the end of the workday.

Collaborate with field teams, take initiative, and demonstrate leadership potential on projects as your experience grows.

Adapt to occasional out-of-town work and flexible hours when required to meet project timelines.
**Essential Skills**
Registered 2nd to 4th year Apprentice Electrician with relevant trade schooling or on-the-job training.

Minimum of 1 year of recent commercial construction experience.

At least 1 year of experience bending conduit up to 1 inch.

Demonstrated experience with conduit installation in commercial environments.

Ability to perform wire pulling and install electrical devices in accordance with standards.

Fall Pro training and lift operation training suitable for working at heights.

Reliable transportation to reach various project sites.

Ability to operate lifts safely and work comfortably at heights.

Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems in commercial settings.

Capacity to work full-time hours, Monday to Friday, on a consistent schedule.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
CSTS and WHMIS certifications are considered an asset.

Experience working independently on commercial electrical tasks.

Experience with high voltage work is an advantage.

Experience operating a telehandler is an asset.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends when required.

Ability to travel for occasional out-of-town work when projects demand.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in dynamic site conditions.

Solid work ethic with a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.

**Work Environment**
You will work primarily on commercial construction projects across Calgary and surrounding areas, with occasional assignments in nearby communities.

Current and upcoming work includes retail tenant transitions, new office tenant fit-outs, corporate office renovations, and large warehouse lighting upgrades.

The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling approximately 40 hours per week, with the possibility of flexible hours such as evenings or weekends when project needs arise.

The environment is that of active construction sites, involving regular use of lifts and other equipment, working at heights, and adherence to safety protocols.

Work may occasionally require travel out of town, with advance notice provided.

Typical attire consists of appropriate construction workwear and required personal protective equipment suitable for commercial electrical work.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
