Perform MIG welding and fabrication work on steel and stainless steel components as required.

Fabricate basic wood framing, install roof membranes, and carry out other cross-functional mechanical or trade tasks needed for test assemblies.

Assist with the setup, instrumentation, and routine maintenance of specialized laboratory testing equipment.

Help dismantle completed steel structures at the end of each test cycle and maintain a clean, organized, and safe high-bay laboratory area.

Maintain a high degree of attention to detail and consistently apply safe work practices in all welding, fabrication, and material handling activities.

Collaborate effectively with a small technician team, crane operators, and lead engineers throughout each project build and test cycle.

Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into daily work to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.

Perform other related technician and fabrication duties as directed by the supervisor.
**Essential Skills**
At least 4 years of stick (SMAW) welding experience, including vertical and overhead welding on structural steel.

Experience in MIG welding to complement stick welding capabilities.

Exposure to basic carpentry tasks such as wood framing and installation of roof membranes.

Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts and willingness to contribute ideas to enhance processes.
