About the Role
The Company is in search of a Senior Counsel for Procurement and Construction to join its legal team. The successful candidate will be a key player in the support and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage.
This role involves leading the negotiation and drafting of a variety of complex commercial agreements, with a focus on construction and procurement. The Senior Counsel will also serve as a strategic advisor, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Applicants must have a J.D., LL.B., or equivalent law degree, with active bar membership in a U.S.
or Canadian jurisdiction. A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including a solid background in commercial agreement negotiation, is required.
While not mandatory, experience in the renewable energy industry and with large infrastructure projects is highly valued. The role demands a professional with a combination of law firm and in-house experience, particularly in the areas of project finance, development, construction, and procurement.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing external legal counsel, possess strong business judgment, and demonstrate the ability to assess and mitigate legal risks effectively.
