Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Manager of Accounting to lead and oversee a dynamic team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role requires a strong leader who can manage multiple accounting functions, ensure timely financial reporting, and implement effective internal controls. Responsibilities:

- Supervise and mentor a team of five accounting professionals, including specialists in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and an accounting supervisor.

- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely completion across all areas of accounting.

- Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, adhering to relevant compliance standards.

- Manage forecasting for the balance sheet, perform account reconciliations, and conduct variance analysis to support financial planning.

- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial data.

- Utilize accounting software systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency.





- Coordinate with payroll and accounts payable teams to ensure accuracy in payments and reporting.

- Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting processes and financial reviews.

- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.

- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in accounting management or supervision, preferably within the service industry.
- Robust knowledge of accounting software systems, including ERP platforms.
- Proficiency with tools such as ADP, BlackLine, and Concur.
- Advanced understanding of accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee financial statement preparation and month-end close processes.
- Expertise in developing and implementing internal controls.
- Solid analytical skills, with experience in forecasting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively guide and develop a team.
