We are looking for a skilled Millwright who will play a critical role in supporting the reliability, efficiency, and safety of PCFP’s manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of industrial machinery, production equipment, and facility systems.
Working as part of the Maintenance team, Millwright collaborates closely with Production, Quality, Warehousing, and Operations to minimize equipment downtime, improve reliability, support production requirements, and maintain safe and productive facilities.
This position has a direct impact on operational performance, food safety, employee safety, and equipment reliability and requires adherence to PCFP’s Food Safety Management System, Health & Safety Program, preventative maintenance requirements, and established maintenance practices.

Wednesday - Saturday Day Shift (6am to 4:30pm) 4X10

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities according to established maintenance schedules.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Fabricate, install, modify and repair sanitary and non-sanitary piping including stainless product lines, CIP loops, water, compressed air and glycol cooling systems
- Inspect machinery and equipment to identify irregularities, excessive wear, damage, and potential failures.
- Diagnose mechanical and equipment malfunctions and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, lubrication, adjustments, servicing, and component replacement.
- Perform TIG/GTAW sanitary welding to food grade standards
- Support equipment changeovers, adjustments, and production requirements as needed.
- Assist in identifying recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective or preventative solutions.
- Complete assigned maintenance work in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
Facility & Building Maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on manufacturing facilities, warehouses, office buildings, grounds, and related infrastructure.
- Maintain building systems, shop equipment, vehicles, and ancillary equipment as required.
- Assist with facility upgrades, equipment relocations, renovations, and improvement projects.
- Maintain the maintenance shop, yard, tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Identify and correct facility hazards and maintenance deficiencies.
- Help ensure PCFP facilities remain safe, functional, reliable, and compliant with company standards.
Installation & Project Support
- Assist with equipment setup, installation, commissioning, relocation, and modification projects.
- Support production improvement, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with contractors, vendors, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders as required.
- Participate in equipment testing and validation following repairs, maintenance, or installation.
- Assist with project work involving recent or modified equipment and facility systems.
Health, Safety & Food Safety
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a safe working environment by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards where appropriate.
- Follow required lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and equipment-specific safe work practices.
- Use required personal protective equipment and ensure tools and equipment are operated safely.
- Support PCFP’s Food Safety Management System, GMP requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise product quality or food safety.
- Promptly report safety concerns, incidents, equipment failures, hazards, and near misses.
Team Support
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehousing, Operations, and other departments to support plant objectives.
- Assist other departments as required to facilitate production and operational efficiency.
- Communicate equipment status, repair requirements, and maintenance concerns to appropriate team members.
- Participate in training, safety meetings, Maintenance team meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support the development and training of apprentices and other Maintenance team members where appropriate.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification or active enrollment as a 3rd-year or higher apprentice in a recognized Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprenticeship Program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working with industrial equipment, mechanical systems, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs.
- Sanitary Stainless TIG/GTAW pipefitting experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Ability to travel between PCFP facilities and offices in Abbotsford as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
Preferred
- Previous experience in food, beverage, agricultural, or industrial manufacturing.
- Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, piping, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic equipment.
- Welding, fabrication, machining, or related trade experience is considered an asset.
- Experience working within GMP or food safety-regulated environments is considered an asset.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Regular exposure to an active food-manufacturing environment, including noise, moving machinery, wet areas, varying temperatures, and production activities.
- Regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
- Must be physically capable of safely lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs.
- Work may occasionally be performed at heights, in restricted spaces, or around operating industrial equipment in accordance with applicable safety procedures.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Occasional overtime and emergency maintenance support may be required based on operational needs.
- Regular travel between PCFP’s Abbotsford facilities may be required.
