Established in 1958, the Santa Maria Goretti Centre has been a cornerstone of Edmonton's Little Italy for nearly 70 years. Rebuilt in 1987 through the dedication of the Italian-Canadian community, the Centre has grown into one of Edmonton's premier banquet and conference venues. Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe every guest should feel like family, whether they are attending a wedding, corporate event, community celebration, or our long-standing Sunday Pranzo.

The Role

We are hiring a Catering Sous Chef!

We’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, approaches challenges with a positive attitude and attention to detail, leads by example, and knows how to keep a busy kitchen focused, organized, and moving forward.

What You’ll Do:

● Support the Chef with large-scale event preparation and execution

● Lead and coordinate kitchen staff during prep and service

● Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency

● Execute menus efficiently in high-volume environments

● Adapt quickly to changing event needs and last-minute requests

● Maintain food safety, sanitation, organization, and kitchen standards

● Assist with prep planning, inventory, and overall kitchen operations





What We’re Looking For:

● 200-500 person catering experience is a must

● Strong leadership and communication skills

● Proven ability to handle stress and perform under pressure

● Creative, solutions-oriented, and highly adaptable

● Exceptional attention to detail

● Professional, positive, and charismatic approach

● Red Seal certification is an asset

● Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
