One of our clients is currently seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to support daily plant operations and ensure efficient order fulfillment. The successful candidate will safely handle and move materials, load and unload trailers, and assist with various plant operations.
Responsibilities
· Operate industrial overhead cranes to safely handle long and narrow materials such as rebar
· Load and unload flatbed trailers using crane equipment
· Move materials between machines and throughout the yard
· Pull inventory according to order specifications
· Perform pre-operational equipment checks and report any issues
· Complete required documentation accurately
· Inspect cut materials for quality and prepare them for shipment
· Operate semi-automatic and manual machinery as required
· Assist machine operators, forklift operators, and other team members
· Safely lift and handle loads up to 50 lbs
· Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work environment
· Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
· Provide support across departments and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
· 1–2 years of overhead crane operating experience, preferably with heavy materials
· Forklift, tow motor, or reach truck experience is an asset
· Crane certification can be provided; a current license is not required
· Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance knowledge
· Solid verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Reliable team player with a positive, can-do attitude
· Ability to multitask and learn quickly
· Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required
· Flexibility to assist other plant personnel when needed
