Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in a fast-paced fish processing environment. In this role, you will oversee daily production activities, ensure quality control, and promote process improvements to maximize efficiency. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive workplace while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision & Leadership

- Supervise and provide direction to production employees across assigned processing areas.
- Coordinate daily staffing, work assignments, and production activities to meet operational requirements.
- Train, coach, mentor, and support employees on production procedures, company expectations, quality standards, and safe work practices.
- Monitor employee performance and attendance and provide appropriate coaching and feedback.
- Support progressive discipline and performance management processes in consultation with Human Resources and management.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, effective communication, and a positive workplace culture.
- Lead by example and ensure employees understand and follow company policies and procedures.
- Communicate production priorities, changes, and operational concerns effectively to employees and management.

Production Operations

- Oversee daily production activities to ensure orders and production targets are achieved efficiently and on schedule.
- Monitor production flow, staffing levels, equipment availability, and material requirements.
- Ensure employees follow established production procedures, SOPs, GMPs, and quality standards.
- Monitor productivity, yields, downtime, waste, and other key production indicators.
- Identify production issues and take timely corrective action to minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate the movement and transfer of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products between production areas and facilities when required.
- Ensure production records, logs, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with operational tasks when required to support production continuity.

Planning & Coordination

- Participate in daily and weekly production planning based on customer orders, inventory, raw material availability, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Shipping,



and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Adjust staffing and priorities as production requirements change.
- Monitor availability and proper use of materials, supplies, equipment, and other resources.
- Support efficient scheduling and allocation of labour and resources.
- Prepare and review production reports and communicate results, challenges, and opportunities to management.

Quality & Food Safety

- Ensure production activities comply with company quality standards, GMPs, HACCP requirements, food safety programs, and applicable regulations.
- Work closely with the Quality team to address product quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor product handling and processing practices to minimize quality issues, contamination risks, waste, and product loss.
- Ensure employees understand and follow applicable food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Immediately report and address quality or food safety concerns that may affect product integrity or customer requirements.

Health & Safety

- Promote and enforce a solid health and safety culture within the production department.
- Ensure employees follow company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Conduct or participate in workplace inspections, hazard identification, and safety meetings.
- Reinforce proper use of PPE, equipment, tools, and safe work practices.
- Report workplace incidents, injuries, hazards, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Participate in incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Support emergency procedures and ensure employees are familiar with applicable emergency protocols.

Systems & Reporting

- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Use production and inventory systems to review production orders, transfers, consumption, output, and other operational information.
- Develop working knowledge of company systems, including ERP, RF scanning, production tracking, and related software.
- Use Microsoft Office and other systems to prepare reports, analyze information, and communicate production results.
- Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, production, and customer information.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, yield,



product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.
- Analyze production challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Support the implementation of current processes, equipment, procedures, and technologies.
- Encourage employees to provide feedback and suggestions for improving operations.

Additional Responsibilities

- Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives as required.
- Participate in meetings, training programs, and operational improvement projects.
- Provide coverage for other supervisors or production areas when required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, food processing, production, or similar environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment with responsibility for employees, productivity, and operational results.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education; post-secondary education in manufacturing, business, food science, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience in fish or food processing is an asset but not required.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing production requirements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and workplace health and safety practices is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Valid G-Class driver's licence is an asset.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, and move throughout the production floor.
- Ability to work in cold, wet, and refrigerated production environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear required PPE and comply with food safety and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime, as operational requirements dictate.
- Forklift certification is an asset; training may be provided where required.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44.0 per week
