About Us:
We are a well‑established local tutoring centre in Victoria, BC, dedicated to delivering high‑quality academic support. We are now recruiting a Brain Bee Competition Tutor to guide motivated high school students preparing for regional, national, and international Brain Bee neuroscience competitions.

About the Brain Bee Competition:
The Brain Bee is an internationally recognized neuroscience competition for school students (grades 5–12), focusing on neuroanatomy, brain disorders, patient diagnosis, written and oral exams, culminating in local, national, and international championships thebrainbee.org+2thebrainbee.org+2.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver engaging instruction on key neuroscience topics, including neuroanatomy, neurohistology, brain imaging, neurological disorders, and cognition.
- Prepare students for all competition components: multiple‑choice and short‑answer tests, patient diagnosis scenarios, and live oral rounds.
- Design mock tests and practice sessions that simulate the Brain Bee format.
- Provide feedback to develop students' analytical thinking, presentation, and time‑management skills.




- Track student progress and coordinate with parents and the centre.

Qualifications:

- Robust background in neuroscience, biology, or related fields (e.g., undergraduate or graduate study).
- Familiarity with Brain Bee materials (e.g., Brain Facts, Neuroscience: The Science of the Brain) and competition formats.
- Teaching/tutoring experience with high school students; competition coaching experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to create structured and adaptable lesson plans.

Details:

- Location: Victoria, BC (in‑person).
- Schedule: On‑demand—sessions scheduled to accommodate students' timelines leading up to competitions.
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate.
