Pediatric Physiotherapist

Independent Contractor Opportunity

Bright Futures Health Inc. is expanding its pediatric services and is looking for a registered Physiotherapist with professional experience working with children.

This role focuses on helping toddlers and children build the physical skills needed to move, play, participate in everyday activities, and become more confident in their environments. Services will be provided in families’ homes and at community partner locations.

Applicants must have previous experience working directly with children in a professional or clinical setting.

About the opportunity

The Pediatric Physiotherapist will assess each child’s physical development and provide individualized support based on their abilities, needs, and family goals. Depending on the child, areas of focus may include gross motor development, strength, balance, coordination, mobility, posture, gait, and participation in daily activities.

The Physiotherapist may also have opportunities to design and facilitate small pediatric groups for children and caregivers.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct pediatric physiotherapy assessments• Develop individualized goals and treatment plans• Support gross motor development, balance, coordination, strength, mobility, posture, and functional movement• Provide engaging,



developmentally appropriate physiotherapy activities• Deliver sessions in clients’ homes and at community partner locations• Monitor each child’s progress and update treatment plans as needed• Develop home programs and provide practical guidance to parents and caregivers• Communicate clearly and compassionately with children and families• Collaborate with other regulated healthcare professionals when appropriate• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical records• Follow all applicable professional, ethical, privacy, and documentation requirements• Facilitate pediatric groups and caregiver education programs when available

Required qualifications

- Registered Physiotherapist in valuable standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario• Previous professional or clinical experience working with children is required• Pediatric physiotherapy assessment and treatment experience• Professional liability insurance• Strong knowledge of pediatric development and functional movement• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, organization, and documentation skills• Ability to manage an independent caseload• Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle• Ability to travel to clients’ homes and community locations within an agreed upon service area• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check

Additional experience considered an asset

- Experience working with toddlers and young children• Experience supporting children with developmental delays, gross motor challenges, neurological conditions, mobility needs,



or other physical needs• Experience delivering in home or community based pediatric services• Experience developing or facilitating children’s groups• Additional pediatric physiotherapy education, training, or certifications

Contract information

- Independent contractor opportunity• Part time caseload with the potential to grow• Flexible availability determined by the contractor• In home and community based appointments• Opportunity to select an agreed upon geographic service area• Potential opportunities to develop and lead pediatric group programs• Administrative and scheduling support provided by Bright Futures Health
