Quality Assurance (QA)

Location: Burnaby, BC
Job Type: Full-Time

Richmond Packaging is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Quality Assurance (QA) professional to support our quality and food safety programs. The successful candidate will work closely with production and the QA/QC team to help ensure products, processes, and documentation meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform production line quality inspections, product testing, and verification activities.
- Review and verify daily production sheets and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and verification of quality and food safety procedures.
- Maintain HACCP programs, prerequisite programs, SOPs, production forms, and related documentation.
- Conduct environmental monitoring and validation testing in support of the food safety program.
- Provide GMP training and assist with employee training related to food safety and quality requirements.
- Perform internal audits and assist with follow-up corrective actions.
- Support the Supplier Approval Program and Pest Control Program.
- Investigate internal quality issues and external customer complaints.
- Conduct root cause analysis and assist with the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage customer returns and prepare related investigation reports as required.
- Help ensure ongoing compliance with applicable food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with product withdrawals, recalls, and mock recall exercises.
- Support third-party food safety audits and customer audits, including preparation of documentation and follow-up actions.




- Work closely with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and promote continuous improvement.
- Provide additional support to the QA/QC Manager as required.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Approximately 2 years of Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing or related manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, BRC/BRCGS, or similar food safety and quality systems.
- Familiarity with applicable CFIA, FDA, and/or USDA requirements is an asset.
- Experience with internal audits, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and quality documentation is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valuable organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and production environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with production and management teams.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with production teams. The ideal candidate takes ownership of quality issues, maintains accurate records, and understands the importance of food safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Experience:
Quality Assurance: 2 years preferred
Food manufacturing: 2 years preferred

Pay: $56,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
