Pinnacle International is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Hospitality Controller to join our Head Office team in Vancouver, BC. This role plays a key part in overseeing the financial operations and month-end reporting process for our portfolio of hotels and restaurants.
As our hospitality group continues to grow — including upcoming new hotel openings — this role offers the prospect to be involved in financial setup, system implementation, and operational support during the expansion phases.
We are looking for a driven accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization and is eager to contribute to operational excellence across multiple hospitality assets.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Support and help guide a team of 12 accounting staff
- Provide financial and operational support to hotel and restaurant management teams
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and maintain integrity of financial records
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Perform account analysis and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Support year-end financial reporting and coordinate required documentation for audits
- Assist with internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications & Experience:
- CPA designation (required)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in hospitality accounting is considered an asset
- Experience with SAGE 300 and/or Yardi is an asset
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Solid analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a collaborative approach
